STEM Access students tour the University of Idaho campus

The past few days with the others from Upward Bound’s STEM Access program have been busy, but well worth the time spent. Several people, including myself, are from Post Falls and Coeur d’ Alene and have just joined those from the Lewis-Clark Valley on the University of Idaho campus. We have had some catching up to do, but everything has been going great so far.

The first official day on the U of I campus was mainly introductory for the people from Post Falls and Coeur d’Alene, and it gave us a chance to catch up to the groups we were assigned to in order to further the traffic projects. The second and third days there were spent typing up our research papers and learning different mathematical equations relating to traffic control and road construction. Yesterday we did the same, continuing the work of the previous days, but we were able to watch a movie on the Tower lawn as a time to relax and enjoy the great weather.

I think that this program is a great benefit and I’m looking forward to the next few weeks.
